Took some pics of our Cobalt 263's raw water pump internals. Our 496 mag HO has 314 hours on it as of today according to the laptop reading.

New mercruiser pump on order. You can see the wear.

Did you consider a harden stainless pump?

Yes.
Unfortunately in the interest of time the dealer had already ordered the Merc pump.

Nothing special. I am getting in the high teens and later in the day it drops to 5 to 8 at 3000. Crazy at least the last few times it has not gone into limp mode. Trying to fix this myself so it dosen't set half the summer at a dealer. The one I have talked with are not sure what the deal is I replaced the block pressure sensor.

Hello,
In your first post you mentioned a laptop reading. Is there a way to connect a laptop to the 496's for data readout?

Thanks,

Yes. You have to buy a cable and a disc. Depending on what software you download is not very friendly on 1 of them.

I like this option but it cost more.

Yes but it won't work. We tried. Matt and I tried to make a connector for it but it didn't work. They have a secrete resistance in there.
I'm sure if you really sirens the time on it you can figure it out. But buying the cable was much easier. I have the software if you get the cable.
