Did Cobalt make a flag pole for the 220S or is there a after market one. Thought about using the stern light pole but not sure its strong enough.

Yes they did have factory installed option. You can also buy the same one aftermarket. Tig Tech

Tig Tech. They were the OEM supplier to Cobalt until very recently. Made in Kansas and super high quality. Little pricy but you get what you pay for. Several people here have installed them, including us, I don't think I have ever heard a complaint.

Does require you drill a hole in the boat, but I woudln't want to put a flag into our stern light.

Definitely go with aftermarket!! Believe I was quoted close to $500+ for a stainless-steel pole and flag (maybe more). Went the aftermarket route via Amazon and paid about $80 for pole and flag (think it's a 36") and it looks amazing!! I was worried about the quality for the price but it's heavy duty and mounted with zero issues.
