Flag Mount Installation

Post by stevea207 »

I've got a 2019 R5, looking to install a stern flag mount. This forum suggests TigTech, and they have a mount that looks easy to install but does require a hoe saw drill into the boat, 1 1/4 hole at a 20 degree angle. Seems like a fairly easy install, and I am moderately handy, just reluctant to start drilling into the boat. Anyone do it themselves? Best mounting spot? Thanks for the input.

Yes you have to drill a hole. They used to supply the flag and pole to Cobalt before Cobalt went to another source that wasn't local to them.
Matt had a great post on here on it. Maybe A7 can find that one? Then put it in the factory spot.

I made a guide for my 360. Drill the 1 1/4" diameter 90* through a 4x4 block. Then cut through the hole at 20* on a miter saw. Double-stick tape the cut face to the surface. Voila!

I probably have the block and the hole saw in my shop. You're welcome to use it.

HA! more construction & over-thinker & anal about drilling holes in the boat background. :D
