A couple of small brass nuts rolling around, port side transom/bilge any guesses?

Ok, Found a couple of these today. One rolling around in back of the batteries on the port side underneath in the rear, and one came out of the drain plug when I pulled it.

Brass, tough to see everything and get to everything back there, so wondering if anyone has guesses.

You're doomed. They hold on the flux capacitor.

Crap. How will I get the necessary 1.21 Gigawatts to pull my kids on tubes?

I'm trying to remember where I saw any little brass nuts on my engine. Are there little brass nuts holding the water pump assembly together?

They look like they have been down in the abyss for a long time. Who knows. Could be from the batteries and someone just dropped them and just replaced them, same with the factory.

How small?

If really small, usually sender for oil pressure, water temp, knock sensor, etc...

I was also gong to guess instrument gauges, but it looks pretty greasy/oily and that would be a LONG way for it to roll back to.

Yeah, they are smaller. Found 3. Two on the port side, but sort of right behind the batteries, one on the starboard side.

The boat didn't see much use it's first 4 years. 48 hours total on a small lake. We've run it 10 hours already and we use it. Suppose because it's new to me, and with my ski tow ring loosening up so badly last week I'm just touchier and worry more. But, I won't lie that it does concern me! Found one sheet metal sype screw also in the bilge but less worried about it. I think I know where it came from.

But, open to ideas. Going to have it serviced for winter this year and get a baseline for me. Figure I'll have the impeller done no matter what, etc.

Found a couple of those exact nuts in the under-seat bow storage areas of our 1995 220 this weekend while doing a deep cleaning. Best guess they are some part of interior fit-out and the boats may leave the factory with a couple extras sitting around until someone finds them.

I think this is the correct answer to the above fastener photos!! Black paint on the outside would indicate it was painted on the engine.

BBP give this guy a carbomb or tidal wave ;)

Well, scheduled to go in for full winter wind down, and my list of smaller issues to take care of on Oct 20th. I tried Cobalt customer service, and got a quick "don't worry about it, those things happen and they were there from the start" e-mail back. My only thought there is... then wouldn't both sizes be greasy and mucked up? These were threaded on somewhere... but I'll just take them along with me.

Sounds like your going to need it. I also have a BB with a dead cyl after the distributor broke on a car cruise. I guess I didnt need my year end bonus anyway.

Yes indeed.

How did you break a distributor?

Sorry for the hijack OP
