2004 240 depth finder question.

I am asking for a friend as I have an R5 but they have a 2004 240 that the depth finder quit working. The gauge will read 0 to about 2 feet give or take and the low depth alarm goes off until it it silenced. They can’t seem to find the transducer to check if the fluid has dried up or leaked out of the mount, can anyone tell me where it is located? Also does anyone have any other ideas of what the possible problem could be?

It's under the engine by the motor mount area probably starboard side.
