Can I use flush port to dyi winterize ?

Hi folks, I got a dyi newbie question about winterizing my Volvo Penta 5.7 GXi. Can I use the blue hose flush port on my engine to put in the winterizing pink (after I get it hot and the t-stat opens)? I use that all the time when I run the engine in my driveway.

Looks as if he has the Motor only. Considering its in the garage maybe just a blanket is all he needs
