Adding a bimini on a 2013 232

About to close on a 2013 232 that was originally delivered without a bimini top. Thinking I'd at minimum like to get a quality bimini top for some shade on the boat. Because it was not installed originally, assuming this will mean drilling into the hull. Cobalt obviously charges premium price to do a factory bimini, but I can find others with Sunbrella fabric through other dealers. Any guidance on whether it makes sense to pay the extra for Cobalt factory parts and installation (dealer nearby) or save money on a third party top?

Hey D.M

So glad you found us!

Do you have the arch? Pics may help in this discussion. How handy are you?

And welcome aboard mate!

Thanks, glad to be here. Not very handy. :) Would likely have it done by a Cobalt dealer or third party. No arch or tower on the boat, and no clips for a Bimini top.

Great lines. It's not that hard to do it yourself but you are drilling into gel coat. Don't want to mess that up. Maybe give Cobalt a call and ask about purchasing an OEM bimini. A dealer or third party can install it for ya' like you mentioned. Or you can just go with a plastic tarp like one of our members did a few years ago.
