I have a 2016 A28 that didn’t come from the factory with underwater lights or transom speakers (has the base 6spkr one remote system).
The boat seems to have the wiring for those options as I have found the loom for both in the rear of the engine compartment labeled “lights underwater starboard-port” and “transom speaker rear right/left”,

The issue is, I cannot find the switch for the underwater lights on the helm and there is no loom under the dash labeled similar to the ones in the rear. Am I out of luck on installing these?

Similar issue with the speakers as well, when i remove the panel behind the stereo revealing the harness, I only see one spare unconnected wiring loom except it’s labeled
Speaker twr/transom SWITCH. And the colors of the wires are not the same as the rear wires…
Am I out of luck again on installing this option too?

Any help at all is appreciated as I’m left clueless as to where to look and what to do next :/

I can check, but I think my underwater lights are run through an 'Accessory' switch on the dash. New to me 2016 28 so I'm still getting familiar with the dash buttons.
Side note, appears my transom speakers are 'hard wired' to 'on' with my cockpit speakers. I've followed the procedure in the stereo user manual and menu to turn Zone 2 (transom) on/off, but they appear to always be on if cockpit speakers are on.

I checked the underwater lights connectors for voltage when the “accessory” button is switched on/off and sure enough I am getting 12v to those connectors when using that button. Problem solved on that front!

As for the transom speakers, I had an old speaker laying around that works and I hooked it up to the transom speaker leads in the engine compartment… no luck there as I didn’t get any sound from either connector.

Any ideas on how to start tracing where these rear transom connectors lead to???
