Fuel still at 100% - Calibration?

Hi All,
So brand new R4. Loving it so far. I've probably put a good 3 - 4 hours on it so far and the fuel gage has not budged from 100%
When I saw the boat at the dealer before delivery I did see the gage at 0%. He filled up the tank at delivery. He actually said it took more fuel than 50 gallon listed on the specs. Like an extra 4 or 5 gallons.
Just seems a bit suspect that it's still at 100%. I am seeing what seems to be normal fuel usage data. I had read the threads that it needs to be calibrated from the dealer which I told them prior to delivery. Assumed they did it but you never know.
In any case...any idea what to do? Wait and see if it moves after more usage? I can't find instruction on how to calibrate it...I know it's under warranty and I can take it back to the dealer but that's easier said then done
Any guidance would be awesome!

I had almost an identical expierience. My tank said zero, dealer filled it up to 100% I'm suppose to have an 80 gallon and it took 82 gallons. Anyway it finally droped to 97% after about 5 hours of engine time cruising and filling ballast and playing with the wave settings, but when I went to fill it up it took 17 gallons.
Under fuel settings in the gamren screen you can callibrate it your self. Fill your tank full, then make sure your boat is on a level surface, go into settings (you may have to hunt around for it) and there is a option to callibrate. It'll ask if you have a full tank, you tell it yes, and there you go.
Now that's just me messing around with it, i'm going up to my dealer this weekend and I'm going to ask them if there is more to it then that. Haven't had a chance yet to see if it's more accurate after doing that. I take comfort in knowing I'm not the only one.

I'm getting the same thing ... Tank at 100% even after hours of driving - should be down to around 50%. I've filled up 3 times. Frist time, tank was at 100% for a long time then dropped to 40-60%. Put in 36 gallons of gas, which would mean my tank was close to 40%. My second tank, same scenario. Last time I filled up the tank still was reading 100%, I put in 17 gallons, which means I had about 70% left in the tank. Long story short, I can't trust the gauge, so I just based it on hours since fill up. Planning on filling up every 6 to 8 hours.

Sounds like a good idea. Insane that this is not working correctly.

I'm so glad you guys posted this, because I was thinking the same thing, gas gauge hasn't moved since it was delivered. I suppose there's no other way to see how much fuel has been burned other than putting some gas in the tank.

If it was a few years ago it is probably not relevant. Sounds like it may be specific to the new R's. For what its worth I have a 2021 R5. I calibrated the gauge directly through the VP EVC and it appears to be accurate at all tank levels. Maybe calibrating from the Garmin is not the right way? The sender is connected to the VP network and then that info is just relayed to the Garmin.

Thanks for the info. When you calibrated...do you remember what the procedure was through the EVC? I don't have my manual with me and finding one online is not easy for some reason

Once at Settings hit OK. Use the right arrow until you come to Fuel Cal. There are three methods; Multi, Full & Empty I just selected Full. At that point with tank full and boat level (i.e at the fuel dock) hit OK. Should be good to go.
