Hi all, I'm relatively new to boating and have fallen in love with Cobalts based on talking to owners and experts. I've already learned a lot from the many helpful posts from your awesome community! Thank you!

I'm considering a lightly used CS23 located in Northern California and was wondering if anyone has input on what a fair price should be for it, or anything I should look out for. It's a 2020 CS23 with less than 100 hours on it, all freshwater use. It has a bunch of options that listed at around $17k back in 2020 - see attached spec sheet.

I'd be really grateful for any input or advice!

Thanks in advance!

What engine is in it? Any pictures of it? Trailer included?

I don't have pictures, but it's in like-new condition. Engine is Volvo Penta V8 300c DP with closed cooling system.

Thanks!

Hey N2C. So glad you found us.

I’m not able to download the pdf for some reason on my iPad.
What is the current sales price?

Pics or a link could also help.

And welcome aboard mate.

Thanks for the welcome, AsLan7! I've tried putting the PDF inline, maybe that will help?

Asking price is $105k, which feels high to but I'm new to this! About 70 hours.

So basically he's asking full MSRP for a 2 year old boat. I don't know enough about the used boat market, but that does seem pretty high. Especially knowing/assuming he didn't buy the boat at full MSRP, so he's trying to make a bit of a profit on the sale.

When we sold our 2020 R7S last year we got full 2020 msrp. That was back when gas prices were lower, it was only on the market for two weeks. I don't know what the market is like now. But used boats are going for a pretty penny, especially in good condition. You can always make hime an offer.

Ive been thinking of offering up our '21 CS23/trailer for $110k so theres that. Dealers have limited build slots right now and they are reserving them for higher profitable boats, so good luck finding a brand new CS. Even if you did, the nationally advertised discount is gone and I would be willing to bet a boat in this price range might be in the 3-5% dealer discount range as they are losing a more profitable (again) build spot for one.

We paid a lot less than that for brand new '19 R3 with pretty much everything except flagpole and Platinum sound.
But, that said, the market is the market. You've come to the right place to have people help you spent your money.
How bad do you want it, how quickly, and what options do you have?
