Wiring Diagrams/Lots of Spare Plugs

Has anyone ever come across the electrical diagrams for a 2007 222. I would imagine that most of the open bow boats share the same wire harnesses. The reason why I ask is there are quite a few empty plugs that are not being used. I have also noticed that some of the plugs are numbered. Any help would be much appreciated.

On my 2017 R5, I emailed Cobalt and they sent me a wiring diagram. It isn't great but does show all connectors

Unfortunately I have not contacted Cobalt yet. After digging around in the boat this past month, it’s like working on a 64 Chevy. These boats are very basic and pretty straightforward. If you have a multi meter you are good to go.

I’ve discovered on my boat that the wiring harness and connectors appear to have been installed for ALl of the options, even ones that have not been installed. The wiring even exists for options that were not even offered in my model year.
For example the galley option was only offered in 2003, yet the galley pump wiring was still being installed in 2007. It was even prewired up to one of the “unused” accessory switches. I tied into that abandoned galley pump circuit last month and used it for the circulation pump on the cockpit heater I’m installing. I just had to terminate a couple of wires into a new Amp Universal Mate-N-Lok connector and plug it into the existing galley pump connector.
Connectors and wiring for a head macerator, galley, transom shower, docking lights, cockpit heater, Captain’s Call exhaust, stereo amplifier and stereo remote, etc all exist on my boat even though, sadly, none of those options were installed.

This will certainly make life a bit easier if my 263 harness has all of the "option" circuit wiring included.

Having the electrical diagrams from Cobalt certainly helped me try to sort through everything. The diagrams were not perfect, but were close enough to serve as pretty good roadmap.
Perhaps Cobalt will send you electrical diagrams for your boat? I received my diagrams back in 2008, so I have no idea if the Cobalt factory is still willing to do this.

I believe that prewiring for all options has been the standard at cobalt for a long time. I'll bet that gets nixed in the near future as a money saving tactic. I've added options in the past and all wiring was present. The only thing my dealer told me they would not add after the fact is the windless system.

It depends on the price of copper wire vs having multiple variations of a wiring harness and trying to manage that.
At the last company I worked at we were able to save money in the long run my reducing as many SKUs as possible. That meant when we built our modules, each module was loaded with the max amount of memory as possible and the amount of memory available to the buyer was enabled by software. It also allowed an upgrade later with a software change. No different with a boat...if you want to add an option later, like captains call, everything is there including the switch on the dash.

That's interesting. I hope that's the case with Cobalt. I presume it is, otherwise I think Malibu would have changed it by now to what ever is cheapest. Which I don't mind. I'm always looking to make things cheaper and bring down my overhead as well, just not at the expense of quality. I guess this may be a rare instance where the cheapest option also benefits the consumer.

My purchasing dealer confirmed that Cobalt did indeed wire every boat for every option, which makes upgrading much simpler. WhenI added my chartplotter, I simply wired it to the "Accessory" switch on the dash..no wire cutting or splicing which was great.
Now, no clue what Malibu will do. There is the argument that it's cheaper to only order and stock one wiring harness in the long run, but I would almost expect that they will simply reduce the options at some point to simplify the buidl process.
