Dealer recommended we upgrade to the Volvo Peña V-8 300HP (But I’ll be honest, based on what I’ve read on this forum, this might prove a lot of engine for what is a 22.6 ft boat that’s already on the lighter side in the line up… Q: when we talk about the noise of the V-8, how much louder are we talking? I trust the dealer, and it does open up some “bigger” names. I just don’t want “Hit it” to be literal. At the same time, if you’re going to lean into the mid-life sports car crisis, might as well go all in?

As background to my thinking: My H is in Industrial Manufacturing. Venture partnerships. crushed rock, processed clay, crushed glass, transportation and other niches. At 61, Retirement isn’t in the immediate future (if ever if Im honest), especially when he’s endeavored to create a life so you can work from pretty much anywhere (and he does - all the time). When People used to ask me what he did I would say, Think Fred Flintstone but more Mr. Slate. Also he’s a big golfer. Life philosophy is more Buddha over any kind of organized religion (also collects them). Three grown kids, two w/ spouses and 2 grandsons.

Ive attached a pic of the stern where the name will go (not our boat, but the same model/color combo). Would love some advice on that process there as well. Material options, install. Typeface of Cobalt? Etc. Also, Im gonna have to look at this area closer; it doesn’t appear as the flat surface I originally thought it was?

I also welcome any new ideas! Seems to me there’s a few very creative thinkers on here.

In no particular order:
Blue Bedrock
First Crush
Crushing It - he’s likely to think that’s too braggy.
Blue Excess
Simple Excess
Liquidity
Liquiditas (Latin)
Venture
Endeavor
Venture Calls
Venture Vocatus (Latin: Venture Calls)
Venture Tempus (Latin Venture Time)
Felix Venture (Successful Venture)
Endurance
Bluetiful
Deja Blue
Carpe Omnia (Latin: Seize All)
Carpe Vitam (Latin: Seize Life)
Better Bet
Mantra
Blue Therapy
Birdie
Arahant
Tempus (Latin. time)
Blue Fairway
McBoat
Betcha
Blu By U
Grindstone
Grindstones Folly
The Nook’s Rook (condo is nicknamed The Nook)
McB LLC (first initials of our 3 adult kids)
Nook Rook

Sorry this is so long, both post AND list!

We used brushed stainless steel letters made by https://www.woodlandmanufacturing.com using Cobalt's font Old Style 7 for our 2022 R8 Surf. Even Flow - great Pearl Jam song (and several other meanings) also fitting for a Surf boat.

Such a pretty BIG boat! And that’s a really nice way to put the name on the boat when they haven’t really left you much room to do so. I also have to admit, Im a little jealous of your copious amount of cupholders. Don’t quite get why the CS22 doesn’t have as many cupholders as they say passengers can board.

So glad you found us Modadunn!
You're going to make so many fantastic memories on her in the coming years. Enjoy.
Your description hinted on a name that could work based on your family's background. How 'bout... Flintstones?

And welcome aboard mates?

Just my opinion, but I like Bluetiful and Blue Fairway-assume that's a golf interest ref for you. We named ours Ghost because we ordered it on Halloween, the black hull and an inside joke between us. I went with the 911 font our sign gal was able to look up for us and we're really happy with the look.

Thank you! We're happy with it, and it's kind of cool people have picked up on the name and always use it-even at the dealer and service center. Seems like a lot of people don't name boats these days. I grew up in the NE on salt water and it was bad luck if you didn't.

Yes to the bad luck. I fault that very superstition to the demise of an Ensign partnership. Never could agree on a name. We sold our share and pretty sure there is still no name.
I love that 911 Font! Whole thing looks awesome. Is that a CS22? Just asking cause from photos, I can’t tell if it’s actually flat across the stern. Looks like it is here though.

Bad luck?
I work at a casino and tell people that it's bad luck to be superstitious.

She's a CS22. The font area there is concave and curved - part of the reason we fell for the complex shaping on the CS sterns. At first I was going to go all out and have some stainless metal letters mounted but the curving on the fiberglass was too much to mess with those so we went with these and are really happy with the look.

No suggestions on a name. Just here to state I love the lines of the CS series, especially with how the stern meets the swim platform. I think they are the best looking current model Cobalt.

If they made a "CS28", I'd be all about it.
