Recall Notice - Dometic Steering Rack

Dear Valued Cobalt Owner,
Cobalt Boats continually strives to produce the highest quality boats on the water, but occasionally we discover that an issue has arisen. In this case, we have been notified of a recall issued by one of our suppliers, Dometic Marine, for steering cables installed in Model Year 2023 Cobalt boats.
You are receiving this letter because our records indicate you purchased a Model Year 2023 Cobalt boat that has been identified as having a potential steering issue.
Dometic Marine is a large supplier of marine components and one of very few that supplies this component for boats across several segments. As a result, this potential defect is across many brands. We have included a copy of Dometic Marine’s letter to you, the customer for your reference.
As Dometic instructs in their letter, be aware that continued operation of the boat may result in failure of the steering cable and, subsequently, loss of steering. Please DO NOT operate the boat until the steering cable has been inspected / corrected. Continued use of the boat could result in property damage, personal injury, or death.
We recognize resolving this issue is an inconvenience to you, and for this we do apologize. Unfortunately, this failure by Dometic Marine impacts you as well as Cobalt. We will work with Dometic to do everything possible to make certain they provide satisfactory components in the future.
Please schedule an appointment with your authorized Cobalt dealer as soon as possible to have this issue corrected. Your Cobalt dealer has already been notified of the issue and stands ready to assist you with timely repairs.
