Lake Michigan waves

Storm Force (Hurricane strength) winds a few days ago made for wild waters in Gills Rock and Deaths Door. The waves and spray you see are hitting the Shoreline Marina. Spray was going over the motel and restaurant roof! Capt. Jim heard the forecast and moved "The Shoreline" boat to Washington Island and rode the storm out there in the protected harbor at Kap's Marina. Even the Washington Island Ferry had to suspend operations for part of a day and freighters were seeking shelter in the upper lakes. Thank you to Ann Ratkowski for these great photos!

Always amazed at how the Lakes can transform into something like the ocean.
