Soft spot in the floor. 1998 cobalt 200

So I have a small soft squishy spot in my floor in my 1998 cobalt 200. Right now we just put a cooler there So the kids or anyone else doesn’t step there. I know the stringers are fiberglass so I’m not really worried that it’s rotting out but I see they use this honeycomb layer under the fiberglass liner. Maybe that has went bad in that spot. And DIY way that anyone knows to fix this?? Spray foam of some sort maybe? Any insight is greatly appreciated

I've never heard of a soft spot on a boat that didn't have wood deck. I'd be interested in what you find. Good luck.

Hey Rkuhns...so glad yo found us my friend.
Sounds like the plywood has either cracked or rotted in that area. Are you able to provide a picture? You may be able to cut out the bad section of wood and replace.

A7 is pretty much on it. Either cut it out from the bottom and replace the wood and reglass. Other option is to drill a grid from the underside of small holes, clean out as much wood as possible with a pick and then inject epoxy with a syringe into the holes and tape until dry. Either way not an easy repair if you aren’t familiar with glass work
