This is the month that boating starts for most of us in the North country. Ice out on our lake was yesterday, May 1st which is a couple weeks later than normal. It’s a glorious site to see open water again and I’m hoping my dock/lift installer will do his thing by this weekend. We are finally having a stretch of warm weather and I’ excited to get the season started! Let’s see some pics from some of you in warmer states.

It's been a long, wet and cold Spring here in the Seattle area. Pic is from the first launch of the season. Really looking forward to a great season!

Tenley Ellis Paddle Board_05-07-23.jpg
We got the Nauti Weasel III out for the first time in '23 over the past weekend. The girls got to use their Christmas present (inflatable paddle board) and they loved it. Mrs. Nauti Weasel and I both paddled around for a bit as well, but I didn't stand on it (confident I could) because I was just a bit fearful of falling into the 63* water.
Oh, and we caught a glimpse of these 2 planes (looked a bit like Warthogs, but these had 4 engines, not 2, so not sure what they were) that almost looked like they were mock dog fighting. They were low, and pulling some pretty hard turns, which I was very surprised by being that the lake isn't that far away from civilization. They were really cool though, and a first time seeing something like that in the 15+ years we have seen anything like that.

That wouldn't surprise me, as Forbes Field is within 25 miles of there easily. However the way they were moving, I would be really surprised to hear that's what they were. Unless they were trying to break in some new recruits!

If we stay on Greers Ferry Lake until Mondays, we usually see some C130's buzzing the lake. Looks like they come up from Jacksonville AFB, fly around Sugarloaf, then return to the base.

Had glorious weather this past weekend in Georgia. Water is still a bit colder than I prefer but tolerable.
