Depth Finder Default?

Good Morning!
Just picked up my 2024 R4 last week and noticing that the depth finder (GPSMAP 743 Software Version: 34.00) shows a depth of 80ft or so when initially turned on (the boat is docked in 4ft of water). The depth finder corrects itself after about 50 yards as we troll away from the dock.
Is this normal for this model boat and depth finder?
Should I be concerned?
BTW: I've owned a 2022 CS23 and the devices found the correct depth immediately.
