2000 Cobalt 190 depth display question

Post by PlentyofChaos »

Hi all,
my boat has the rectangular depth LCD display on the dash attached to a little toggle, which I guess is to set the limits or alarms. In any case, the LCD is clouded beyond use.

What is the easiest way to replace it? Any 2" gauges which would be plug and play with the original transducer wiring? I'm OK to buy something used from the era if that would help.

Thanks!

I think some of them from that era were Faria. Might make sense to pull your current one and see if a new Faria matches up (I know several members here have used them as replacements with little difficulty). A transducer that old may need to be topped off with antifreeze too, but you'll know more once you pull the original depth gauge.

edit - scroll down this thread a ways for one example: viewtopic.php?f=21&t=529&p=6544&hilit=d ... nsor#p6544

Do you know of this transducer would be thru hull, transom, or in-hull mounted originally? I’d like to use the same location for a new one.
