2004 Cobalt 200 - 2 beeps per min

Hi all, hoping someone has some insight here

This weekend I launched my boat (2004 Cobalt 200) and got a constant beep. After running it for a few mins I checked the engine and noticed the drive lube reservoir was low (just below the lower of the 2 lines) After topping it off the constant beeping went away, only to be replaced by 2 beeps every min.

Since then I have tried the following to no avail.
- disconnecting the drive lube wires (want d to see if this stopped the beeping and isolated the issue to drive lube float or wires)
- disconnecting the depth finder harness
- gently lifting at the float in the reservoir (I can’t see it, so it could be stuck or not functioning properly)

The boat runs and idles normal. Running at 3000Rpms the oil psi was at 60 or a bit above). On a cold start today it idled a little above 40 psi.

Any suggestions on where to look next? Marinas are backed up so trying to resolve it myself (I’m intermediate on handy)

Appreciate any tips. Also is there a code reader anyone recommends to scan it myself.

Hope everyone reading this is off to a great start to summer!

Well...If I were you, I would still add more gear oil and see if it stops beeping. I had mine at the same level as you and got the beeps.

Updating this in case anyone has a similar issue. It was the water pressure sensor. After it was replaced the beeps went away.
