2020 Cobalt R5 Surf Volva FWD drive trim motor test

I've done quite a bit of searching, found some information but would love to have some validation on how to manually test the Volvo trim motor.
I've already located the harness plug, 2 wires.
Do I connect a positive to one side for up and the other side for down?
Is there more to it than that?
