I have a 2023 R4 that I purchased from a dealer new late last summer. I received a "recall" letter from Volvo Penta for a problem "V6, V8 Link Actuator Fault Code". When I checked into the Volvo Penta Connect website, I found that there were two other service campaigns lists for my serial number. "Gas Engine Start Calibration Update" and "Gas V8 Oil Line Retention".
I called up the dealer that sold me the boat and they express hesitation and nervousness about attempting these update for fear of locking up or crashing the electronic control system. I called two other more local Volvo Penta Authorized dealers. One refused, indicating they did not have the software to do the updates. I can not get the other dealer to even return a call.
My question for the group is, I assume I am not the only one with these Volvo recall & campaigns on the engine & drive, is this a big deal to get these updates done? My boat is running fine as-is, but I don't want to get stranded on the water or worse. Any thoughts, experience or comments would really be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
