Hoping to do some drone flying off of our 263 this summer.
We plan on filming the kids behind the boat during their water sport activities.
I really like the Autel-Robotics X-star drone over the Phantom models.
The X-Stat is on my Amazon wish list ( May birthday

))

Anyone here have experience flying this (or any drone) off of their boat?
Some things to consider...

Yea I figured a practice drone..its fun to fly and you want 2 important things.
GPS and altitude hold. Plus the " return home " is good when things go weird.
Those where video screen shots. I'll do better this year on pictures.

We bought Max one but he didn't fly it much. The gps return home could return where it started from and that could be a problem on a boat.lol

Not sure if you read that article, but it did mention to disable that feature on a boat.

Funny. I was reading the requirements and it says you have to take a mini test by the FAA. It said there are questions from the private pilot written test on there.
I think I got this one covered.

Cool pics! I told Jeff I wanted one just for the cool pics you can get... Just need to find a lake friend with one to follow me around for an hour!

I really like the thought of a waterproof drone while boating. Something like the SwellPro Splash drone is another option.
Not sure about their customer support network though & it is pricey (I can have 7 of Matt's Husban drones for one of these!)
Plus, only 16 minutes of flying time
Here it is in action...

Interesting how fisherman are using it to drop bait as well as to peer underwater...

(Not sure if it's BBp proof though)
