2020 R5 Trim

Post by baand320 »

So last night, after being on the water all day, I go to start the engine and nothing happens. I had plenty of power, checked the obvious, throttle in neutral, safety key, etc. For the last couple of months, my trim guage would be all over the place when launching the boat, but would usually settle down after getting under way. So I tried to override the trim and it started. We arrive back at the ramp. After getting the boat on the trailer, I was unable to trim the drive up. Would not go up at all and no sound from the trim pump. However, it would go down. After messing with it for a little while, ended up disconnecting the trim pistons and used several dock lines to tie the drive in the up postion to get home! Is this issue most likely the sensor or a combination of things? Thanks

guessing it is a VP drive? That is where I'd start, you can buy the new trim sensor and plug it in and try it before actually installing.

Thanks. I did pick one up. Haven't had time to mess with it yet. I'll post an update when I do!
