Did anyone else get the Cobalt marketing email teasing the release of the "all new" R26? Curious how this will be different than the current R6? It will come in both the standard and surf variants. News will drop 8/17/26.

What exciting news! We’ll all get to see it on August 17. In any case, both the standard and surf versions seem like good options. As for the engine, I’m leaning toward the 6.2 L or the VP 380. I’m also curious to see how it compares to the A29 in terms of interior space.

A29 is a 9' beam, so gonna be 6" wider regardless.

I really like the new R26, back to the 21degree dead rise, interior design looks good, flooring looks good. the hydrologic swim step and flip step combo solves the getting out of the water issue of typical just flip swim step.

Other than the price, anything people don't like about it?

The split backrest supports look cheap and like they could cause some pain if you were bounced against them in rough water.

Well I went on the Cobalt site and built my dream R26 at over $330k...what a bargain. Of course that's with the Monsoon 6.2L 430HP engine (it's great to see a small block with that kind of HP).
Cobalt pretty much knocked it out of the park with the options available. The only thing missing is a switchable exhaust option which we have always enjoyed using on prior boats.
