R6 OB Power Steering Air Bubble Sound

I have a new R6 OB. I'm experiencing, what I can only imagine, is an air bubbling sound at the steering wheel when I turn full right or full left near the point where it won't turn anymore (at max right, max left). Is this normal? It came new like this, so I don't know any different. It just seems ...

Re: Anyone move from a R3 to R4 or R5 to R6?

I have a 2023 R6 Outboard (Verado 350 supercharged inline 6). Our first boat, so I have no comparison in sound differences, but the engine is remarkably quiet. 12 hrs. on the engine so it's broken in now, and I was able to get it up to 53 mph with just me onboard and a full tank of gas (80 gallons ...

Re: Wintering of a moored and covered R6OB in PNW

Thanks. The water doesn’t freeze over at the marina in the winter so i think an ice breaker isn’t warranted. Also, i plan to use the boat every 1-2 weeks during winter so trying to not use the pink stuff if possible. I did a little sleuthing on the intersnizzle and found an outfit that makes a ...

Wintering of a moored and covered R6OB in PNW

Hi,
I have a new 2023 R6OB and will be mooring it under cover in a slip over winter on Lake Washington (freshwater lake near Seattle). The boat has only 6 engine hours and I plan to take the boat out every week or so throughout the winter season, provided it is not raining, just to run it a bit. Do ...

Re: New Boat Insurance Recommendation

I have been with Progressively for 6-7yrs, a SeaRay and now my R5. I would say I am happy, no big rate increases, but no claims either. You don’t really know how good your insurance is until you have a claim. Whatever you choose, I would be sure to get a declared value policy vs an actual cash ...

New Boat Insurance Recommendation

Hi all,
I'm in the process of getting insurance for my new 2023 R6 OB. I have two very competitive quotes. One from Progressive the other from Global Marine. Before I pull the trigger, does anyone have any thoughts? Both coverages appear to be similar on the surface.
Thanks in advance for any ...

Re: 2023 R6 OB Engine Choices

Sorry to burst your bubble regarding the V8 Verado but I believe the Mercury 350 Verado offered for the R6 is an in-line 6 with supercharger...
Still, pretty fast to plane (4.08 sec) and not bad top speed (55 mph). Also, the 350 gets the best gas milage out of all the OB offerings.

Re: Roswell Speakers Gone in 2023

I am in the middle of working on a 2023 R4 Surf Build and have asked the dealer a few questions regarding options/lighting, etc. He was told by Cobalt rep that Roswell will no longer be supplying audio components for 2023 builds. They are being replaced with Harmon Kardon. What I don't know if ...

Re: 2023 R6 OB Engine Choices

Thanks for posting the performance numbers.

I wonder if Merc will eventually go V8 on the 350 or 400 vs the Inline 6. I've heard such great things about the new V8 300.

As far as speed goes, 30 feels slow in my boat. (To me). I typically cruise in the 35-38 range, but would rather be up around ...

Re: 2023 R6 OB Engine Choices

Thanks for all your responses. All literature I see on the R6 OB says the boat is approximately 5,300 lbs., which isn't too heavy.
Info I got from the dealer regarding outboard performance with the R6 states:

Make Top-Speed On-Plane
Merc 300 50.7 mph 5.70 sec
Merc 350 55.0 mph 4.08 sec
Yam 300 49.0 ...

2023 R6 OB Engine Choices

I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I just ordered a 2023 R6 OB with a Yamaha 300 outboard motor. I live in the pacific Northwest and will use the boat in the freshwater lakes as well as Puget Sound, which was my reasoning for getting the OB. My engine options were Mercury 250, 300, 350 ...
