Kill switch lanyard for 2001 226
Hello
I have tried without success to find the appropriate kill switch lanyard for my 5.7 GSI PEFS (serial number 4012037948 if that helps) on my 2001 226.
Can anyone suggest a site to find one, or the part number?
I’m sure it’s something simple but just not having any luck
Thanks in advance

Hull Cleaner Recommendation for Heavy mineral deposits
Hello
My 226 has some heavy mineral deposits on the hull. I had the boat professionally detailed when I bought it. The detailer was able to get off most of it but about 15sq ft of deposits remain. I would like to get the rest off, but am not sure which product to use.
Any suggestions? I have looked ...

Opinions needed--Moving up from 226--->296
Hello
We have owned our 01 226 (our first boat) for one season and loved it. We would now like to get something larger so we can bring more friends and family along. I have located a 2009 296 with twin Volvo 5.7s and low hours. It appears to be well maintained. This is for tubing and beach on Lake ...

Re: DP Outdrive stuck in Up position-Cause?
Thanks for the info. Marina jumped the pump directly to the battery and was able to get the trim to work. I have pulled it from the water so mechanic can take a a closer look, hope to hear this week the diagnosis. I might just have the assembly replaced given that it is 20 years old now.

DP Outdrive stuck in Up position-Cause?
Hello
I have a 2001 226 with Vp DP out drive
When docking the boat I must have been pressing the Trim switch to the up position when reaching over the side. When I looked back the trim was all the way up, and when I tried to put it back down nothing happens—-no sound from the trim motor at all. My ...

Mounting a flag on a 226
Hello
I am looking for ideas on how to mount a flag on my 2001 226
I was thinking of putting a flag mounting base where the stern light is ( we never use the stern light), but the hole is too big for the bases I have found.
I have looked at various options and none seem like they would work ...

Trailering Clips for 5.7 Gsi DP--recommendation
Hello
I am looking for trailering clips for my VP 5.7 Gsi DP outdrive.
I found Sierra International 18-9098 but it cannot tell for sure it will fit the DP. The packaging states that it fits the SX drive
Any experience with this?
Thank you in advance

Re: bilge pump
Following the thread, thank you for the information
I also have a 226 (01 with 5.7VP)
So all bilge pumps have an automatic float? I believe mine has the original pump. When I flipped the bilge pump switch to the on position it did pump out water for about 3 to 5 seconds. There was very little ...

2001 226 stern light replacement
Hello-
I have a new to me 01 226. The previous owner replaced the stock (broken) motorized stern light with a non motorized light that does not seal the hole.
I was thinking of replacing that with a plug in stern light base that could seal the hole, and stow the light pole when in storage.
Has ...
