Kill switch lanyard for 2001 226

Post by smhgator »

Hello

I have tried without success to find the appropriate kill switch lanyard for my 5.7 GSI PEFS (serial number 4012037948 if that helps) on my 2001 226.

Can anyone suggest a site to find one, or the part number?

I’m sure it’s something simple but just not having any luck

Thanks in advance

Do you have a picture of where the kill switch plugs in?

What do the letters say on the left side? Is that a broken piece of black plastic behind the toggle switch?

Maybe there are other identifying marks on the back side?

Edit: Never mind, found it. It turns out that it is not a Volvo Penta part at all, but is an aftermarket kill switch called Saf-T-Stop made by TH Marine.

You are looking for TH Marine part number L-4-DP.

I bet one of these would work in a pinch. All you’re looking for is a loop that is “caught” by the toggle switch being in the RUN position. Cheap experiment. If it works then you have a backup lanyard, which you are going to want to have.
