I’m looking for a new cover, ours took a beating over the winter. I haven’t been able to find any made for a mid 90s 220 with a swim platform, curious what everyone else has done after added an aftermarket platform.
I’ve left ...

Swim Platform Seadeck
Recently ordered a platform from swimplatforms.com and I’m looking for anyone who has gotten a template done for seadeck. Would need to be a mid-late 90s 220.
Playing with the idea of just doing a DIY deal, but it would be nice to have a real one done.

Re: Anchor line
I am in a different situation. I boat on Lake Tahoe and we can get some pretty good winds. I want to be able to anchor in case I have a problem and I lose power. Of course there are areas of the lake that just 20' offshore, the water is over 400' deep so even my anchor isn't going to help me. That ...

You’re not kidding. Once I pulled the head unit out and saw the wiring, I just started cutting and pulling.Big Block Power wrote: Fri Aug 26, 2022 5:29 pm Wiring is terrible in our year boats. You may want to run new wires also.

I did my windows with this, much better than the foam seals from the factory. Took some finessing.

Re: August 2022 Pics
We got hit with hail pretty bad this past Friday. I watched in sadness as my truck got destroyed at my office. Fortunately insurance paid out more than I paid for it new. (Bought it in 2019 precovid)
So here’s my new tow vehicle. Huge upgrade from my XLT. Max tow package to boot.

That depends on if merc has a patent for that design.jhnmdahl wrote: Fri Jul 08, 2022 8:22 pm Something tells me we'll see flapper valves in Volvo Penta exhausts in a year or two - just remains to be seen whether they can be retrofit to current boats.

Re: Another victim of hydrolocking
I'm not mechanical at all, so please forgive my ignorance, but would that relate to the recall they had issued?
No not a Recall if it didn't have anything to do with emissions. And not really safety related.
They are retarding the timing I'm sure on decel.
Yep. Trying to keep more back ...

Got incredibly lucky and the slip we rented for the week has a lift in it that fits our boat damn near perfect. I was planning to have to tie up with bumpers all week.

What kind of bearing is in there? Could that be where the leak is coming from? What about the boot that goes around the out drive?

Re: Another victim of hydrolocking
It's in the back of my mind everytime I slow down for the last 5 years.
I don't know why Volvo just didn't add exhaust flappers? I'm not a engineer but sure would seem like the smart thing to do.
Are the flappers internal within the risers, or are you talking about the external flappers on thru ...

I can't imagine buying a car for $200K and haveing the salesmen say, "oh by the way try not to slow down to fast becasue that could cause thousands of dollars of damage to othe engine." I guess they have calculated it's cheaper to deal with it when it happen's vs issue a recall to fix it? It sounds ...

Re: Another victim of hydrolocking
Sorry about finding out what reversion is.
Sucks big time. Yes others where drained pickled change oil and plugs and put back on the water. Haven't heard of any after effects from them. To me I wouldn't want that engine. It just took a crap load of stress to it.
So what year is your boat? Size ...
