Re: Pulled the trigger! 2003 262, VP GXi, Stainless tower

I bought the Westland Sunbrella cover last spring for my 05 262. After it stretched out a bit, it first perfectly. Way thicker than the sharkskin. I was able to get 3 yards of extra fabric and I'm having a swim platform cover made as well. I ordered mine through Bald Mikes. Highly recommend him. I ...

Re: Upholstery Replacement

I just had the entire bow, the lower section of the rear horseshoe (anything your butt goes on) and the sun platforms done on my 05 262. It was $5800. We spent a lot of time working to make sure the vinyl matched really well. I'm in Northern Illinois.

Re: Cobalt 343 transoms shield replacement

I've never heard of a transom shield before... Looking it up on google, it seems to reference volvo outdrives more, but the mercury examples shown were basically the transom assembly. I replaced that on my 2001 206 only because the kit was cheaper than buying all the cables needed. Otherwise I would ...

Re: 263 Boat Fire !!

Oh my... That's terrible to see, but glad everyone got off without any issues! You should have no problem selling that trailer. There is always a 262 / 263 owner looking for one. Is your cover for the Fiberglass Arch or Stainless?

Re: 2022 A29 major issues

I've read about a few horror stories about the A29. If you check out the FaceBook Cobalt Owners Group, you'll see them well documented. It's a shame as it's a beautiful boat, but this model doesn't appear to pass the smell test.

There is a really nice 2008 232 with a big block for sale in Austin area. 44K + the trailer.

Re: Discounts being seen on New Cobalts

20% good for June. Maybe 25% in September on floor models.

I Located a carry over model 2022 r8 w twin 300 OB. Really surprised it’s not sold. Being that it new and a 2022, I’m going to chat with the local Cobalt rep and see what discount they would offer.

For those who own an R8, you you ...

Re: Buying 2003-226 or 1997 220

I would go for the newer boat. The 226 hull is known for it's great ride and handling. The walk thru transom as you mentioned will be appreciated when everyone (and your dogs) aren't stepping on your seats. I had a 2001 206 with the 5.7 Merc and it was a rocket ship.

Re: Questions about 262s, 272s and 282s

I'd personally go with the 272 just based on the tower, swim platform and back seat. I have a 262 and love the center walk thru as it situates people to both sides of the boat. But when hanging out on the anchor, the rear seat on the 272 is much nicer than the 262 and 282. Just my .02...
