R8 Surf on trailer height

Does anyone know how large of an OH door is required to fit a R8 Surf in on a trailer. I am finalizing options on my R8S and dealer can't guarantee it will fit in a 12ft OH door with the tower down. My R7S fit in a 12ft OH door with the tower up by a couple of inches. I am looking at the either the Prism Tower or the regular rotating sunshade tower options.

I’d be interested to know this as well. I have an R8S on order and we have a 12 ft door. My R7S needed two inches on the trailer to clear. with the tower down I had a foot or so. I would think it would clear but it would be nice to know for sure.

Lespaulrob and I talked about his in another post he has an R6 sruf with the standard tower. He says his measures just a tick over 12 ft on the trailer. He thought a prisma folding tower would fit easy. Here is the post if you want to look it over, he has some great pics of his boat.

Really depends on trailer mfr. My trailer is Heritage and my R8S is 12"4" on trailer with the Prism power-tower. My storage unit has 12' door and I have to lower the tower to get into unit. Hope this help, isn't much information out there other than here that I have found.

When your tower is lowered how much clearance do you have? These boats are getting so tall... Crazy to think I'd have to worry about it with the tower lowered, especially on a 12 ft door?

Never measured with tower lowered, but I would assume it cleared 12ft opening in excess of over a foot.

Thank everyone for the response. I don't know what I will do if it won't fit with the tower loaded. I guess we will find out in a few months.
