Thank you so much that’s actually really helpful. They have one that’s in our a in that black with gray stripe that I actually really like. I’d probably do a black tower however…

This is the combo we went with for our R6 build. Keep going back and forth. Worried this is too boring.

Honestly the more I look at it the more I actually really like it a lot. I think it’s classic but the gray stripe and the caramel interior make it feel different and modern. I also like how the black Tower works based on the black hill.

I think the gray stripe with a white bottom looks great, but I'd go white stripe if sticking with blue side and bottom. I also debated different colors for the tower, but went with white, because sometimes "modern" one year looks dated several years later. Hard to go wrong with "classic," but it's your boat, and that's half the fun.

My boat is below, using a slightly older color pallette:

This is all really helpful. Any thoughts about red stipe vs. gray stripe?

When we were at the Regatta and visited Dane at the Liquid Lounge there were a few black Cobalts sitting on lifts. The most striking was a black hull, red boot, and black bottom. Pictures just cant do that combo justice.

And having seen a few new black hull, white bottom boats in person I prefer a red stipe vs gray. The red really pops. Plus it accents brown much better than gray.

Thank you so much. This is all really helpful. I also like the black bottom instead of white but I’m worried that overtime keeping in all black boat looking great will be difficult?

I have had a white bottom boat that was stained red from all the iron in that lake, so it can go both ways. I dont think black is any harder than any other color. And really even if you get an all white boat the calcium stains and build up you see on colored boats is still there. Colors will also oxidize sooner but then again if you never care for your boat IE clean, wax or polish, then does it really matter?

The only reason I am even bringing up black and red is that it goes so well with a brown interior. We ordered our boat with a white and gray interior and classic Cobalt blue hull.

The red stripe works well with the caramel interior, I think. If the interior were white or gray, I'd likely stick with a gray stripe.

I like the black with grey bootstripe but it might look better with a frost or slate interior. As to the tower, I thought about this a lot before ordering my R3. I think the black tower just looks too "heavy" and that was before the current design which eliminates the stainless steel vertical tube. The only negative to the white tower is with the folding sunshade (if you go that route) you get the contrast between the white and canvass colour (alternating) which I think looks too busy. I think Coblat should match the tube and canvass colour (too costly I guess).

My R3 is Ebony with a red bootstripe. Interestingly, after 3 years the black hull still looks great but sometimes I think the bootstrip looks a bit pinkish (it isn't though). I think I'd go Frost for the strip next time.

Tough decisions.

I just ordered an R8 with a black hull, red stripe and white bottom with the caramel interior. I was considering going with a black bottom but my dealer talked me out of it by showing me an older boat (about 4 or 5 years old) in their service bay with a black bottom that was completely oxidized. The sides of the boat were also black and weren't nearly as oxidized as the bottom. That made my choice of going with the white bottom really easy.

This is all super helpful.

I think it's interested that for the R6 the main hero image, video etc, is the Black, Frost, White, Carmel, Black Tower
