Premium audio upgrade for 220

Just curious
Did anyone get the premium audio upgrade with transom speakers the rockford fosgate. I added and dealer installed, it was like 1800.00. I noticed they put sony speakers in the transom, and did not use marine amps just the standard fosgate ones. I questioned them and they said it was what cobalt says is the option. Kind of hard to believe sony speakers with all other audio fosgate. And non marine amps. Anyone know if that's a load of b.s. I priced the amps and just rear speakers and I can get the amps and speakers for 320.00. I know they change out the head unit and 3 other sets of speakers and kept all the original components. I think I got taken

I myself don't like the way Cobalt wires there system. At least back in the day when they built mine. I'm sure they haven't changed too much. I personally think you could add a professionally installed better system then what the factory offers. That way you pick the components and match them up.

I know they changed speakers for 17’ and honestly, it’s more power and sound than what I expected.
No complaints.
Plays a mean “Fourty Six and Two” from Tool.

Not happy with my sub.
Will most likely change out the sony speakers in the spring.
Possible tower speakers.

I'm surprised they don't even use speaker wire. I think the amp power wire is too small of a guage. You look what the tow boats use for premium sound I think Cobalt is lacking a little. I'm not a stereo pro but I know when I see quality.
