My wife and I are talking about taking a summer vacation with our kids and our R5 this summer. We went to LOZ a few years ago and I liked it there. My wife and kids like to go window shopping while on vacation and they really didn’t find anything to do when we were down there. We stayed about 20 minutes from Osage Beach, I can’t remember the name of the town we were near. I just remember we were near the little iguana arm because we would take my youngest water skiing every evening.
I have thought about going to Table Rock lake but that’s a couple hours further away from us up here in east central MN but it’s not off the table. Table rock Lake is just over 700 miles from our house and probably close to 10-12 hours while pulling a boat so that’s probably the farthest we would go.
Please help me out with giving us some ideas of places to go for a week with a boat that might have something for my wife and two daughters might have something to do. Apparently they get bored if they spend 8-10 hours a day in a boat for 4 or 5 days in a row, I don’t get it...
Come to table rock with us frosty! We will be down there in June
Is a 11 hour drive for us. Plus with Branson right there you will never run out of something to do. And silver dollar city.

When is the regatta?
In July. Last weekend. A few of us chat core members are doing our own little get together.

Never been to LOTTO. Even though I grew up in Central Missouri.
There's lots to do in Branson and surrounding areas. I think it's worth the extra time if you're staying a few days.
We drive an extra hour or more every weekend because the lakes in Arkansas are so much nicer than the lakes in Mississippi.

Have you done Bayfield WI/Apostle Islands or Door County? Bayfield has lots of shopping, B&B's, and restaurants, and so does Door County. I plan on taking my R5 to the Apostles this summer or next as my wife and kids have never been, and I haven't been since I was in a 20 foot Sea Ray in college. IMO, it's hard to beat the summer boat trips in northern MN, WI, and Michigan. The grass is not always greener further south.

I went to Bayfield and around a few of the Apostle Islands when I was about 15 years old with my parents and my younger sister. The 4 of us plus another family of 3 hopped in our early 80’s something Larson 18’ fiberglass boat with a 120 hp inline 4 cyl. engine. I vaguely remember the trip but I remember Lake Superior was glass calm the day we were out on the water and we woke up the next morning to the waves breaking over the break walls to the marina. Good thing the boat was back on the trailer! I also remember that we nearly ran out of gas that day, my dad put a 5 gallon can in the boat with us for a just in case and he dumped that in and could have used another just in case can.
The only problem I wee with going there is my youngest daughter wants to water ski every day. I know the water can get kinda warm in the smaller bays but the water isn’t very warm anywhere else.

Have you thought of Charlevoix MI or Burt/Mullet lake MI? Both are supposed to be great fun
I have not. Before we went to the Ozark's my wife looked at a town on the south end of Lake Michigan thought. We can’t remember the name of the town right now though.

I'm guessing you've already done all the popular lake vacation areas in MN: Detroit Lakes, Whitefish, Brainerd Lakes, etc. I'll check with my buddy who lives in Michigan who is a boater and see what he recommends and get back to you.

We have been to most lakes around home and we are not ruling anything out this summer. Especially with the way gas prices are getting. We really like the Whitefish chain in Brained. I have a couple friends that live between Milwaukee and Chicago that both have boats on Lake Michigan. One of them has a Tiara and the other has a Cruisers and they are both close to 40’. One of them loves the lake and the other hates it because he Used to boat on Lake Superior out of Marquette MI. The one that likes it is big into fishing.

18th through 26th. I'm sure your in Florida
Can't wait to see your lot and house project
Actually pretty sure we'll be down around then. No FL this year, our big trip is Grand Canyon and Lake Powell in early June. Trying to hit Lake Powell before it becomes a river.
Hopefully, there is something to see by then but not holding my breath.
