Post by PDX293 »

Good evening! Big thank you to SeattleA28 for getting me on board! Been looking for a Cobalt for the past year or so. Started out looking for a 262/272. Found a single screw 282 that fortunately fell through because I found a 293 with the GXIs and a swim platform. Only thing I didn't get was fresh water cooling. We're all fresh water, so not a big loss for us.

It's 20 years old; needs a lot of little things. Full buff out and new dash panels are on the top of the list. I recall reading about a member that had the wiring and plumbing schematics, but I don't recall whom. I'll search, but if anyone could point me in the right direction, thank you!

Hey so glad you found us PDX293. Thanks for the pics too.

I'll see if I can remember who had those 293 schematics and post a link if I find it.

Post the GXI engines pic if you can. Always enjoy and engine hatch shot.

And welcome aboard mate!

Sweet! That has to be one of the last few 293's produced. Looks to be well cared for with updated vinyl and Seadeck-type flooring.

That would be me for the schematics & diagrams. :D Just did the same for a member with new-to-them 293 a couple weeks ago. Drop me an email address and I'll get them right out.

PDX293 Welcome to the forum, officially. I know the boat you ended up getting, looks great. Funny thing is that you were a few blocks from my home when you launched in that picture. Would have been nice to connect.

Thank you! I'm in the middle of a full buff out. The gel coat needed a decent amount of work. The boat checked out mechanically but needs a lot of clean up and minor repairs. The bilge is nowhere near as clean as it should be either.

Thank you! This is my first one with an Aisin and I couldn't be more happy.

The PO put new vinyl in 2017 and a swim platform at some point. The trailer is lacking. It's at its capacity (probably over) and one of the bunks ended up fracturing (trailer is 11 years old) on the 4-hour ride home. Already put new 4x6 timber in and adjusted for more even weight distribution. Once you dig into things is when you really find other owner's sins ;) I'll send you a PM, thank you!!!!

Hopefully the boat doesn't have too bad of a rep  The PO was a great guy. I'm finding somethings that the inspection didn't bring up, but nothing too bad.....yet. One engine has bad pining after I did a tune up. Old plugs were at .6. Put new plugs in at .45, new distributor cap/rotor. Either I have a slightly plugged fuel filter, fuel pump going out, or (really uncommon) knock sensor when bad.
