New (to me) 2020 R3!

Post by jdag »

I am thrilled to be back in the Cobalt family after a few years without a boat. Yesterday, my new (to me) 2020 R3 was delivered by Futrell Marine. To say this boat is in "like new" condition is a huge understatement. 29 hours on the engine when delivered yesterday, and we've already put several more on it.

We live outside of Rochester, NY and boat on Canandaigua Lake. The boat is dry docked at German Brothers Marina and is only ~15 minutes from home, so we expect to get a ton of use out of it.

This is my 2nd Cobalt, my other being a 2012 200. When looking this time around, there was zero doubt about getting another Cobalt. While I tried to buy locally, I happened across the posting for my boat online, and the people at Futrell were simply amazing.

I worked with the salesperson named Jake, then his manager James. I made the deposit last Saturday and flew to Little Rock Arkansas on Tuesday. I sea trialed the boat that afternoon and closed the deal.

I was expecting that they'd transport the boat sometime later this coming week, but was shocked when they said that they lined up their driver for Friday. The driver, Quinn, was super, and a bit of a nut case apparently. He left Heber Springs Arkansas at about 2pm on Friday and was at my marina at 5:15pm Saturday. 1,125 miles, and he lost hour because of the time zone change!

So there's my story...smile from ear to ear as I type this! 90 and sunny on Tuesday, and my last meeting is over by 1pm.............

There are some color combinations I'd never think to try in the configurator that look so sharp in real life. Nice boat, guys!

Welcome.
You'll love the boat. We bought our boat from Futrell in Greers Ferry too. Jake was very knowledgeable.
I love the color. It was not in stock when we purchased, or we would have considered it too.
Futrell advertises that they are No.1 dealer in Arkansas, and No.7 in the USA. Always been easy to work with.
I hope you enjoy your R3 as much as we enjoy ours.

P.S. I think I saw this boat on the water last year.

Congrats.....I too have the R3 and it's been a good boat. Something about a Cobalt that turns heads on the water
