On a 2022 R6 can you use a usb stick to play tunes on a Fusion head unit. I tried using the usb hub at the helm but I couldn’t get it to work. On my last 220S boat I had a Kicker head unit and that method worked fine. I’m wondering if the Fusion head unit is able to do that or I’m doing something wrong. Thanks for the help.

Usb stick for music
Re: Usb stick for music
I’m not an expert… but my understanding is that it wont support just a flash drive, the usb is meant for a phone or an iPod. Some one on here that knows more about than I do might know a work around four you.

What Fusion head unit? I wonder if the USB is connected to the head unit, or simply to a 5v power source for charging your phone. You may have to remove a panel covering the wiring to know for sure, which usually isn't all that hard.
Fusion head units have had trouble with file names with unusual characters, USB drives that are too big or not formatted in the right format (Fat32), etc. - maybe try another small USB drive with a single song and see if that works, and build from there?

The USB by the helm should work for this. I use that port to update the software for the fusion head units and remote at the transom. First I would make sure that the USB is plugged into the head unit. I think an easy way to make sure the port and the head unit are talking is by plugging in the USB drive and then switching to USB as the source. It should tell you that a USB drive is connected, even if it's not showing music. Then it may be a formatting issue with how you stored your music on the USB drive. I've seen it where you have to have a certain folder structure for the head unit to be able to recognize the music.Cobaltr6 wrote: Tue Jul 19, 2022 7:20 pm On a 2022 R6 can you use a usb stick to play tunes on a Fusion head unit. Thanks so much for all the tips. I’ll try reformatting and see if that works.
