Since Sampson makes the towers would you be comfortable adding one if everything came in line?? You got Tower experience and they seem OEM

I pondered added one to the 282 but it will sit too far back IMO. Here is the link..

I'm not against adding a tower. But it would have to be the right boat. I'm in no hurry. For me to go from my boat to a new one it has to be The BOAT, if you know what I mean.

I know exactly what you mean!! I've passed on several I've touched. Hard to custom order used so patience and don't take the " it will work"

For the money these boats are it's gotta be a " oh my f... god " moment

Yes and that what this black boat was when I saw it. I gave up my other 220 with a 8.1gi for this one. I wanted solid side color and the tower. And the gxi was the huge bonus. Both boats were very different.

The budget will be closer to $50k
It's out there somewhere.:-)
With Tower!
Yes I know I'm dreaming but it's ok to dream.

Ha, yes.....get me in on that deal too! If I found any BB R3 for 50k, I would flip them all day long pocketing boat loads of cash with ya, big block p.

Considering the FIRST year (2014) R3's BASE model with a 380 or 430 HP big block is currently valued at $60,000 (at the lowest end) without any options, we will need to look for that new widow who knows nothing about boat's. ...although I couldn't do that to a little ole widow...maybe divorce or distress sale?...hoping they have those options plus freshwater....or maybe your specialty--wrecked boat that you could restore! Well that gives us a fightin' chance to find her. (Or wait 2-3 years and she's within reach). Now to look for a free trailer to go with it. ;)

Lol
I have a trailer. lol I can sell mine without it.lol
Oh it's out there. Maybe even a 350hp.
And your the positive thinking one out of all of us.
Yes maybe a year. No hurry. I have to drive one. I don't want it to feel like a cruiser I still want it to feel like a sportboat.
The 222 it's totally different then my 220.

...or, maybe you'll hit the jackpot by finding a multi millionaire seller who has four boats --and the R3 would be considered his or her dinghy--and money is not important--just "take it off my hands" regardless of a $10k - 40k loss.

Now that's my kind of seller! :D

I don't know if it is a fair comparison as mine has a 420hp. But the 220 is much sleeker and lower to the water than a 222. The ride is pretty close to the same but the 222 is smoother per my wife I thought the same, but I was going slower of course.lol I thought it felt more top heavy. It does have a bit more storage than the 220.
So to me the 220 is a camaro and the 222 the impala.
It's like YT says how his 262 is a sports car compared to his 240.
To be honest looking at the lines of the cs22 is closer to the 220 than a R3

Matt "when" I buy a 282 it'll have to have a tower installed.

Yesterday a guy at the dock said his wife fell in love with my boat. He asked if I would sell it.

" You dang skippy".
"How much"?
"You fire a shot. But make sure your gun is loaded and don't shoot a blank".

Then he told me after his wife said that the night before, he found a 2011 on Craigslist for $68,000. I told him that's a different boat, and they quit making the 262 series in 07. Then I added that my boat is a better design, and he could get mine for a little cheaper than that. (nibblenibble) A better boat, less money.
"These Cobalts have a timeless design and really hold their value well, and even though this boat came loaded out, I've done lots and lots of aftermarket upgrades". (tickletickle)
"Well, what would you take for it"?
"You fire first. You're the one that started this conversation"!
"Hmmm. I'll talk to my wife".
"Sure. If you buy it I'll even winterize it for you".

Whatever. I'm sure he's going to shop me, and that's fine! I'm not really ready to sell just yet anyway.

But I'd thump this sucker in its lil'pumpkin head if he offered me some stupid number, and be on the hunt for a 282 with twins immediately!
