Bimini Top - Cobalt 240

Post by Rvgetfive »

Purchase 04 240 last year. The previous owner had the bimini top custom made, I believe. Front mounting brackets cause the screw to bend over time with stress, and because of the angle that the poles take when raising or lowering...screw finally broke, and ordered new Taylor Made posts/screws. Same issue with it. The posts and mounted in such a way that the eyes on the front poles don't swivel properly - and they twist and put pressure on the screw. I'm going to have to buy longer screws just to give it enough room to swivel forward...but then it bends the screws again.

Anyway - was hoping someone could share closer up views of their mounting points so I can see how we might be able to re-do it over the winter. Not looking forward to the expense of repositioning the posts and filling in the prior fiberglass holes.

Thoughts?

Do you have the wakeboard tower, or is your bimini free-standing?
