New Boat Insurance Recommendation

One thing I learned years ago is most companies offer a “partial year” of use discount. In other words your paying a different rate summer vs winter. It’s still insured in winter just not for use on the water, kind of like car insurance and mileage.

The quote I got from Charterlakes was assuming my boat was only in the water for a certain amount of time. Mine was from May to October. They asked me the start and end of my season

State Farm has always been good to me. If you carry a $1 million personal liability umbrella it’s best to bundle everything together. I highly recommend at least a $1 million liability umbrella especially if you own a boat.
