Ethanol Free Gas

Post by AsLan7 »

.

A few other threads here discussed Ethanol free gas use:

Thought I would add to those with a new Subject line for newcomer's if searching.

Either treat your fuel with an Ethanol treatment such as Stabil:

OR even better,

find the gas that does not contain ethanol in your state. Link below will help in that endeavor.

Pure-gas.org also has an I-phone app which comes in handy for us trailer boaters.

Argh closest one to me that has ethanol-free 87 is about a 2 hour drive. There's e-free 101 down the street though  Guess I'll just have to keep burning fuel frequently enough that it doesn't phase separate. "Honey, I know it's Christmas Day but I gotta keep the fuel tank refreshed! See you in a few hours!"

How long does fuel have to sit before it starts to separate? Meaning at what duration of non-use should one consider adding stabilizer?

Add stabilizer with with eth treatment every time. Boats sit. I would only not treat if I was going to use it all in a weekend. I use valvtect treatment

Ethanol free 91 octane is literally everywhere around here. That’s all I use in the toys. 2 stroke and turbo four stroke snowmobiles should use it, and we are a big snowmobile area.

It’s around in Minnesota, but not technically legal to put in a car other than a collector car. Our boat and small engines all get ethanol-free gas, with sta-bil every time.
