Cobalt factory tour…
On Thursday my wife and I will be headed to Neodesha, KS very early in the morning to meet up with our factory Rep and view our R30 on the assembly line as it nears completion. *It won’t be long now until we finally take delivery of our new boat. Does anybody have any questions I can ask for them while I have the powers to be close at hand? I will take lots of pictures of course.

Very cool Acerpilot. That was a very fond memory of mine when the CChat group met up and did the tour. Say hello to the gang for us.

What's the latest on the recall issued by one of Cobalt's suppliers, Dometic Marine, for steering cables installed in Model Year 2023 Cobalt boats.
I'm still waiting on the dealer to complete the repair. The notification came out April 5th.

Do you mean they are actually considering bring back a hi performance boat. I’m all in if that happens.Holy Smokes wrote: Thu May 18, 2023 2:36 pm When is the center console outboard 343 version going to production?

Re: Cobalt factory tour…
Well, first of all humble apologies for not getting back to the group before this but life does go on. Second, Cobalt does not allow any pictures to be taken inside their plant and they are hard over on this rule. Third, I didn’t get the questions before I went on the tour so sorry but no answers. Now on to the tour.
The tour itself was a lifetime event. My wife enjoyed it as much as I did. Our guide was an older gentleman, Alex, who has been with Cobalt since almost from the beginning. His knowledge of the Cobalt process was astounding. He has sold me on only owning Cobalt boats for now on. A really cool part was seeing our boat being assembled on the line. Since it is a larger boat, over 29 feet, it was on the yacht line. The hull was still separate from the deck so we could see all the wiring and a lot of the guts of the boat. The twin VP 350 engines were installed, as was the head and some of the interior pieces to the hull and the dash and other interior pieces to the deck. The next day it was scheduled to have the deck joined to the hull and then to complete the assembly. I now have a more complete picture of how boats and particularly Cobalt are put together.
The other aspect of the tour was the opportunity to meet the people of Cobalt to look them in the eye and see their complete dedication to making the best boats in America. We met Tiffany who only works on R30s and who was working on our boat. She said that she loves the R30 boat and was going to do her best to give us the best boat possible. You just can’t ask for more than that.
So overall we were blown away with the factory tour. One really nice thing about our tour was that we both got to choose a hat from their shop. I do think that my wife spent close to what that boat cost before we got out of there though. So if you ever get the chance to do the tour, jump at it cause it is totally worth it.

Great report!
It's always nice to put faces with names, and to hear the dedication to their work (albeit through your keyboard) was good to hear.
I hope you get your new R30 soon, and are really able to put her through the paces.

Re: Cobalt factory tour…
Alex is a great guy. When met him a few times at the regatta on TRL. He is awesome. The type is great. I think when the core took the tour it was at a great time and the factory was shut down so we had it to ourselves to run a muck and we did. We have Tuscany 430 instead of a 380

We when gave some lucky person a 240!
