Does anyone else’s cover fit like this ?
The whole boot assembly is super loose and wrapped with a Velcro strip almost like it’s missing a piece to keep the rain out

Yes, it is raised vertically to act like rain diverted flashing like on your home gutters. However, the gap is big and will let in rain if it hits directly. I’m not satisfied with it and current solution is to just stuff towels in the gap. Looking for a better solution.

Re: R8 cockpit cover
I have the same cover. I just looked at a couple of pictures of my boat and we have a similar gap though it does look like it sits a little bit tighter against the tower. Our boat is covered so we haven't had any issues. Not the prettiest option but what about putting some type of waterproof fabric through the tower and then wrap it around the gaps and secure it? A much less refined solution could be a couple wraps of cling wrap:)
The morning cover velcros around the tower and then had an additional flap that covers the openings on the cockpit cover.
If you can't tell, I'm not an engineer.

Re: R8 cockpit cover
I am not sure the outer wrap portion does anything even if it was tighter. I had a local canvas guy modify my cover that was cut for a bimini to fit my tower. He added two snaps. One toward the outside front of the tower mount and a second snap toward the rear portion of the tower mount. Both snaps are inline with the existing snaps for the cover. It brought the collar up tight against the inside of the mount. My collar is not as tall as yours which I think would improve the fit as well.

Hey guys just checking back , I ordered some 16x29 in micro fiber clothes on Amazon and doubled them over and wrapped them around the tower . The microfiber grips to the Velcro on the inside of the cover . Again no clue why you’d add Velcro to a area you don’t need it but so far it’s working to keep water out and scratches away
Cheers !
Cheers !
Re: R8 cockpit cover
I would get some pieces of velcro sewn in on the outboard side where the seam is so I could cinch it tight around the arch.
