So glad you found us c883.

The 242 is a solid performer. I’d prefer the 380 horse in her but the small block is sufficient.

The rear side entry means the boat will list to port with a full load of passengers so trim tabs can help level her out.

Others will chime in shortly.

And welcome aboard mate.

Can confirm listing to port with full load of pax. Hint--Don't ask wife to move to starboard over the cooler to help even out the list.

I'm still convinced the Cobalts of this style and era are the best values out there right now, despite spending $50k+ on a used midsized bowrider. I don't hate the new designs and their migration toward wakeboarding boats, but I like the old styles just as well and they were built to another level. Another user just posted a 1999 Cobalt he just picked up that looks fantastic for its age and will outlast and outperform most new boats on the market these days, and I'd expect this boat to hold its value quite well.

I wonder if you could talk them down a few bucks since cool weather is rapidly approaching?

I looked at a 2012 Cobalt 242 in spring of 2019. Price was $54k with no trailer. They must be holding their value.
