Hey All,
I have a '22 R4. Do you know if the Garmin glass cockpits come with the outside air temp sensor. I have it on my screen but it's not reading anything.
I was wondering something was not working or if it just never had it? If it does have it, and it's supposed to work can someone tell me where tat temp sensor is located on the boat so I can trace it back to the Gramin's? Water temp, Water depth work normally.
Thanks!

Re: Outside Air Temp Sensor
Cobalt dropped these sometime around 2017. Both my brothers 2018 nor my 2019 R series had air temp. At the time I found them on Garmin's website for around $150 but decided not to get it. You will find a lot of gauges that don't work because the proper sensors weren't installed. Things like fuel flow rate etc.
When I bought my boat it said it came with an air temp sensor, when I requested them to install based on the documentation, they said it was a misprint and thanks for pointing it out so they can get it fixed.
Seems to me that when you sell a boat for over 100k, an air temp sensor is a small expense that many would look for, especially when it is listed as on the glass cockpit as a sensor.
In relation to using a phone/weather app, here on Norris in the mountains we get spotty service at best. I actually paid for the XM weather package and love having it. It saved my day on the lake two days ago.
