Trailer Tug 2.0
Trailer Tug 2.0
Just moved my 05 262 into an indoor storage unit and my spot is between a large RV and another boat... Backing the boat in was kind of a pain in the butt, but after several attempts I was successful... The surface concrete and flat... Has anyone ever used the Trailer Tug to move a large boat like the 262? The Trailer Tug is all manual pushing and pulling, nothing motorized! I want to say the 262 weight with fuel is over 5,000 lbs and the trailer is probably 2,000 - 3,000 lbs.. Here is the link: https://trailertug.com/products/trailer-tug-v2 Other suggestions are welcome... Thanks

Re: Trailer Tug 2.0
In my storage unit, a guy has a ball mounted on a bobcat where the bucket might normally go, and moves things around with that. I can't imagine trying to do it by hand, even with a trailer tug thing like you've linked - think of how hard it is to push a car, which weighs significantly less.

jhnmdahl, thanks for the reply... I think I'm going to look at the mechanical units.

I think you'll need something with more balls (gearing) I have this for an R5. Probably 7,500 lbs boat plus trailer.

stifflkd,
Do you use the hand crank or a drill to move your boat?

I use the PC-2 model sold here:

Mine was $900 back when I bought it in 2002.

I've used smaller versions of that type of rig- It could be used to move your Cobalt, but stopping it will be harder than starting it.
