276 bow seat gas shocks

Post by ericjohnson520 »

I need to replace the gas shock on the bow seat backrest. I’d love to find a way to lift and hold the backrest in higher position to make using all of the storage a little easier. Has anyone found a shock that will do that?

Thanks in advance!

Hodges Marine has a big selection of gas springs. No idea about the specific size or lift rating for your bow seats, but you could try calling them.

I replaced the gas shocks on my aft storage compartments by simply reading the specs off the old ones and matching the length. I've also installed shocks on my motor boxes. For your upgrade I think you could just guesstimate the length you need, making sure the hinges allow and that you're getting the right lift capacity. Worst case scenario you have to take them back and try a different size. I bought my shocks from Amazon so it was super easy to send one set back when they didn't work on my motor boxes.
