Hi, I'm new to the forum and recently purchased a new R4. Does anyone have experience or thoughts on Freedom Marine NanoCure protection? My dealer recommends it to protect the exterior and interior of the boat. It is supposed to make cleaning a breeze and provide a warranty if something does happen. If the seats get stained by red wine or swimsuit dye, etc. Freedom Marine will replace it for, I believe, 5 years. I also read that Cobalt's vinyl seats should not have protectants installed. Just use hot water and mild dish soap. I obviously want to keep it looking new without being the guy who is on guard the entire day. My last boat had a graphic from a life jacket or cheap tee shirt stain a seat, and I don't want a repeat. Are people buying protection, or is this an upsale?
Thanks in advance for any tips.

That product line appears to be a line that markets to dealerships as an upsell, but there are plenty of other products that work well and can be handled at home for a reasonable cost.
One favorite brand around here and on a lot of other marine forums is the 303 Marine Protectant - see https://a.co/d/9VXbcIf for example. The same company sells a whole line of cleaning and care products, and every one I've tried has been very good. Some members here also like Hot Sauce as a hull protectant to keep a shine longer and resist water spots - https://blingsauce.com/products/hot-sauce - if that's important to you.
Others will chime in with favorite product they've used over the year, but I think having a sustainable at-home solution may be cheaper and more effective in the long run.

.
So glad you found us Ztown.
I'm with John on this one. Big 3M fan and we used those interior products as well on our 262 and 263.
Any pics of your new R4? How is she powered?
And welcome aboard mate.

No pics, the dealer is holding it until spring for me. It is powered by the Mercury 6.2L.

Like @Aslan7, I’m a big fan of 3M. I worked at 3M in the Automotive Aftermarket/Marine division the last 21 years of my career calling on automotive and marine body/repair shops. There are lots of great products out there that I’m also a fan of including 303 and Hot Sauce already mentioned.
Congrats on the R4! We love our R5 Surf that now had 700+ hours on it.
