1992 Cobalt 190 cant find my HIN.

Been all over the boat. its not on a plate on the outer starboard stern above or below the swim platform. need it to complete my registration. any idea where i can find the primary or secondary plate?

I would think they are in the same spot on the newer boats as they were on the older boats, but maybe not. I know you said you checked, but starboard side of the transom is where mine is, and yours should be. Maybe an aftermarket swim platform or something is covering yours up?

I had a similar issue with mine. I figured a paint job wiped it out from a previous owner. In my state we have to have a pencil rubbing of the HIN for some reason. I ordered a plate off Amazon with the number etched in it and stuck it on the boat. Worked well enough for the paper pushers to give me a title.
