Electric Flush Head Conversion
Hi -
Looking at buying a 2019 R7 surf with a removable porta-potty. My wife is pregnant and wants the best bathroom experience possible
. Has anyone converted the head from porta-potti to an electric flush with a waste tank? Is it possible?

Hey so glad you found us PM22….
I’ve never converted but “best bathroom experience “ on a boat is kind of an oxymoron.
Of course anything can be modified with enough time and money. I think my solution would be to stay closer to the marina while out and about…at least for the next nine months.
Others will chime in shortly.
And welcome aboard mate.

Re: Electric Flush Head Conversion
The effort to install a black-water tank would be significant. Very. If you are serious about wanting the upgraded head, I think finding a boat that is already equipped that way would be much wiser.

Re: Electric Flush Head Conversion
If you want the nicer head (I can understand that - the electric head was a must have for us when I bought the R5, we love it and use it) and if you can DIY it might not be too expensive, probably less than the option cost when new. If you are looking to have a dealer install it and buy everything from Cobalt, probably would be much more than the OEM install - but I would at least checkout that option. The holding tank, pumps, hoses and head are not Cobalt specific. You need to install a through hull, strainer, pump and run all the hoses up to the head and wire everything. The holding tank is under the port side bow seat - you would want to ensure that space is available on boats that did not have it installed from the factory. I think the hardest thing might be access, I would think most of the hoses, tank and wiring was installed before the deck went on for OEM installs. If you look at the Cobalt site, the electric porcelain head option is $3097.
