Garmin Water Temp Issue
I have a 2021 R7 with Garmin factory glass dash. The water temp appears to not be working properly for the lake water temp. It just holds one temp during the entirety of the trip. The depth moves appropriately. I’m trying to determine if the transducer is going bad. Thoughts?

Did you figure this out? I have a 2020 r5 and the depth finding keeps holding at 1.6ft. It happened before while on warranty but I cannot remember what they did to fix the issue.

It's usually a sensor on the transom, and not very big but wired to the dash. It's possible it's the wiring, but the sensors do go bad. They often look something like this:

Re: Garmin Water Temp Issue
I did a hard reset and that seemed to help. I also took two digital thermometers and adjusted the temp reading based on those units.Howl Yes 242 wrote: Sun May 18, 2025 12:07 pm I have a 2021 R7 with Garmin factory glass dash. Re: Garmin Water Temp Issue
I have a 2019, and I know they stopped including the water temp on mine, I even had it in their marketing docs that it is supposed to be there and Cobalt replied that they hadn't gotten around to updating the marketing docs yet.

There was a prices for resetting the unit. I followed the steps. I don’t recall the steps right now.

My 2019 has the water temp and it still works great.Norris_Boating wrote: Mon Aug 04, 2025 3:04 pm I have a 2019, and I know they stopped including the water temp on mine, I even had it in their marketing docs that it is supposed to be there and Cobalt replied that they hadn't gotten around to updating the marketing docs yet.

We started having a few issues with gauges not changing. Our batteries were original from the factory: we replaced them and no more issues.

LOL, sorry, I don't know what I was thinking, the water temp has always worked, it was the AIR temp that I never had. Just forget I was here!
